ARAG Austria: Supervisory Board Appoints New CEO

Dr. Matthias Effinger (40), presently CEO of the ARAG Group’s Belgian subsidiary, has been appointed by the supervisory board of ARAG Allgemeine Rechtsschutz-Versicherungs-AG Austria to the management board of the Vienna-based company. Dr. Effinger will initially join the board in October as vice-chairman, as he will continue to lead the ARAG Group’s Belgian subsidiary in Brussels until the end of the year.

Effective 1 January 2012, Dr. Matthias Effinger will assume full responsibility for the conduct of business from Dr. Herbert Kittinger (63) as chairman of the board of management. Dr. Herbert Kittinger is retiring as of the end of the year after 25 years on the management board of ARAG Austria.

Before taking up his duties in Brussels, Dr. Matthias Effinger served as a central department head in ARAG’s international management staff at Group headquarters in Düsseldorf.
